On June 25, 26, and 27, 2018, Valencia became the national capital of catalysis, one of the fundamental pillars of sustainable chemistry that accelerates processes and reduces energy consumption, achieving both economic and environmental benefits. Specifically, the  III Encuentro de Jóvenes Investigadores de la Sociedad Española de Catálisis (SECAT) was held.

The Universitat Politènica de Valencia, in collaboration with the Youth Department of the Valencia City Council, organized this event, with the Instituto de Tecnología Química, a joint UPV-CSIC center, as the main organizer.
